Musicians Needed

We're looking for a few good musicians to help bring our songs to the stage.

One Acre West is an Americana and country band based in State College, Pennsylvania. We recently completed our debut full-length album with acclaimed Austin producer Bradley Kopp and are preparing for our album release, regional show, and a limited number of promotional appearances throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.

If you love honest songs, strong melodies, good stories, and making music with people who care deeply about the craft, we'd love to hear from you.

WHO ARE WE?

One Acre West blends modern Americana, country, roots rock, folk, and singer-songwriter traditions.

Our music is influenced by artists such as Jason Isbell, Turnpike Troubadours, Chris Stapleton, Lucinda Williams, Patty Griffin, and classic country songwriters. We believe songs should tell stories, create emotion, and connect with people.

Our debut album was recorded in Texas with producer Bradley Kopp, whose credits include Joe Ely, Jerry Jeff Walker, Alejandro Escovedo, Eliza Gilkyson, The Flatlanders, and many others.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are currently seeking:

• Acoustic Rhythm Guitar
• Keyboard / Piano

Harmony vocals are a major plus.

We're especially interested in musicians who understand how to support a song rather than simply play over it.

WHAT KIND OF COMMITMENT IS EXPECTED?

This is not a full-time touring band.

We currently perform a limited number of local and regional shows, generally ranging from State College to Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New York City, Washington, D.C., Bethlehem, New Hope, and surrounding markets. We will expand the range as the album is promoted over time.

Confirmed and planned appearances include:

• Arts Fest (State College)
• Pine Grove Hall Album Release Show
• Musikfest (Bethlehem)
• Moonstock
• New York City appearances
• Additional regional club, listening room, and festival dates

Activity is expected to increase following the album release, with additional opportunities throughout Fall 2026, Winter 2026-27, and Spring 2027.

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM MUSICIANS?

• Learn material thoroughly (charts / recordings provided)
• Attend scheduled rehearsals (flexible and based on mutual availability)
• Be dependable and professional
• Contribute positively to the group
• Respect audiences, venues, and fellow musicians
• Come prepared and ready to perform

Most importantly, we're looking for people who are enjoyable to spend time with in a rehearsal room, backstage, and on the road.

WHAT DOES THE BAND PROVIDE?

• Paid performances
• Fair compensation based on venue, guarantee, and event budget
• Partial travel reimbursement for qualifying regional shows
• Promotion and marketing support
• Professionally produced music and promotional materials (videos, live recordings, photos)
• Opportunities to perform at festivals, listening rooms, theaters, clubs, and special events

Compensation will vary by event and will be discussed openly before commitments are made.

WHAT KIND OF MUSIC WILL I BE PLAYING?

Current material ranges from:

• Traditional country
• Honky-tonk
• Americana
• Folk
• Roots rock
• Singer-songwriter ballads

The material is between 75 - 100% original songs, with stylized covers occasionally depending on the venue

Our live performances may be full-band, acoustic, or stripped-down depending on the venue and event.

DO I HAVE TO PLAY EVERY SHOW?

No. Unless you want to…

We understand that many great musicians have families, careers, teaching schedules, and other musical commitments.

We're interested in building a reliable team of musicians and finding the right fit rather than demanding maximum availability.

WHY JOIN?

Because making great music with great people is still worth doing.

If you're an experienced musician looking for a meaningful side project, enjoy original music, and want to help build something special, we'd love to connect.
